“I joined the NUIG Choral Society in 2000 and in 2001 I found myself as conductor of the group. Since then music and choral music in particular have become a central part of my life. The choral singers have become my lifelong friends and it’s a joy to be still in each other’s company, singing twenty five years later.
We’ve had ups and downs, sung well, sung badly, fallen out with each other but we always come back to sing and perform together. As we get older I’d like to think we are getting better musically and sharing our life journeys and experiences with each other; marriages, births, kids, deaths, illnesses, new jobs, new homes, family etc. makes us better singers and artists.
Lots of fond memories abound from the past twenty five years and I’m glad that we are still making new music and memories together after all this time.”
